Doctors Hospital of Augusta welcomes new interventional cardiologist

Doctors Hospital of Augusta is excited to welcome Dr. Phong Nguyen, an American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) board-certified and fellowship-trained interventional cardiologist, to Doctors Specialists – Cardiology. 

Dr. Nguyen pursued interventional cardiology out of a deep commitment to making a direct, immediate impact on patients facing life-threatening cardiovascular conditions. He specializes in diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, and structural heart conditions. What sets Dr. Nguyen apart is his patient-centered approach and technical expertise in complex, high-risk PCI, with a strong focus on intravascular imaging and physiology-guided interventions.

Dr. Nguyen earned his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia, where he also served an additional year as Chief Resident. He then completed both his Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology fellowships at the Medical College of Georgia, where he served as chief fellow in cardiovascular medicine.
