Information for our visitors
We prioritize the visitor experience by answering a variety of the most frequently asked questions
Visiting hours
We understand how important it is for our patients to have loved ones visiting them while receiving medical care. Regular visiting hours are Monday through Sunday, from 5:00am to 9:00pm. After-hours visitor access is available through the emergency department. Children under the age of 16 years old must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
Visitation restrictions
Circumstances may allow for specific exceptions to any visitation restrictions described on this webpage. Those circumstances include religious visitation as well as a designated support person for a patient with a disability to provide assistance with communication or other necessary components of the patient's treatment. All persons entering under an exception remain subject to appropriate infection control protocols.
Designated support person
Family and friends are an important part of the hospital environment. As such, when a patient is admitted to the hospital, we ask the patient or family member to identify one or two representatives who will be the designated support person(s). These people will receive information and updates about the patient's condition, and we ask that they communicate any pertinent health updates to family and friends. Also, they can make decisions and act on behalf of the patient. They not need to be a legal decision-maker, however, if there is a dispute over this representation, legal documentation must be provided.
Each patient is assigned a personal identification number (PIN) to ensure privacy and to protect their information, and the support person(s) will be issued the PIN number.
Our hospital's visitor information
While we encourage visitation at the hospital, there are important points to consider. Unless otherwise noted, all visitors must be 18 years old or older. Two visitors per patient are welcome between the hours of 7:00am and 9:00pm.
Visitors who will be remaining in the facility after 9:00pm will obtain a visitor pass at the security desk in the hospital emergency room entrance. No overnight visitors will be permitted for patients in semi-private rooms. However, at least one family member will be offered to stay at the bedside of any patient receiving emergency resuscitation.
Many of our units have unique visitation regulations that should be considered.
Burn intensive care
While in the burn unit, each patient is allowed two visitors during the hours of 12:00pm to 1:00pm, 4:00pm to 5:00pm and 8:30pm to 9:30pm.
Emergency room (ER)
If you are visiting a loved one in the ER, we request only one visitor at a time. You may visit someone in the emergency room at any point, day or night.
We reserve the right to enact emergency policies that shall supersede these visitation policies in the event of natural disasters or public health concerns that may pose significant risks to staff, patients or visitors. Emergency policies will be posted and shared with the public via all communication means possible.
Intensive care unit (ICU)
Visiting hours in the ICU are from 11:00am to 5:00pm, and 8:00pm to 9:30pm. Only one visitor is allowed at a time.
Pediatrics and pediatric intensive care unit (PICU)
From 7:00am to 9:00pm, pediatric patients are allowed two visitors at a time. Only one visitor is allowed from 9:00pm to 7:00am. It is important to note that a total of four visitors may be added to the approved visitation list.
Women's center
One designated support person is allowed per patient at the women's center. One additional visitor is permitted between the hours of 7:00am and 9:00pm.
