Our team creates personalized treatment plans for you. These plans are designed to lessen or eliminate the limitations you're experiencing and prevent further injuries from occurring.
Our inpatient services
Our therapists work to understand you and your unique condition and use a full range of hospital resources and treatment options to bring about positive outcomes. Components of our program include:
- Electrical muscle stimulation (EMS)
- Heat and cold therapies
- Neuromuscular education
- Therapeutic exercise
- Ultrasound diagnostics and condition monitoring
What to expect from inpatient rehabilitation
While each individual's needs vary, our objective for you is to restore as much of your independence as possible. In inpatient rehabilitation, you spend three hours per day in therapy sessions mastering the skills you need to restore specific functions or manage your condition. Typical goals in our program include:
- Learning to walk again, or walking with a prosthesis
- Overcoming difficulties in speaking or swallowing
- Mastering self-care skills, such as bathing, dressing and grooming
When you are not in therapy sessions, our inpatient rehabilitation nurses reinforce the lessons learned in therapy, while helping you manage your medical needs. Our entire staff works with you to increase your independence and help re-establish your quality of life. After discharge, we also continue to offer you help and guidance in several areas, including assistance with:
- Job-seeking skills
- Leisure activities
- Psychological adjustment after a disability
- Improving balance, coordination, endurance and strength
Our inpatient rehabilitation team
Our inpatient rehabilitation program involves a collaborative process with you, your family and our specialists. Leading our team approach are our professionals, who are certified by The Joint Commission for Specialty Stroke Rehabilitation. They have received training in rehabilitation medicine, nursing and unique specialties, including:
- Occupational therapy
- Physical therapy
- Psychology
- Social work
- Speech therapy
Referrals to our inpatient rehabilitation center
We welcome referrals from anyone. However, the referral process is usually initiated by a written order from a physician.
Rehabilitation referrals
To be eligible for admission to inpatient rehabilitation, you must be evaluated and found to be:
- In need of at least two forms of therapy
- Medically stable with a need for close medical supervision
- Potentially capable of improving function and achieving independence
- Willing, along with family members, to participate with the team in the rehabilitation process
Inpatient rehabilitation is covered by Medicare, Workers' Compensation and most insurance carriers. Our staff will assist with the verification of benefits and necessary precertifications as required by specific plans.
