The Joseph M. Still Burn Center is a 113-bed hospital unit that treats thousands of patients with severe burns every year. As the nation's largest burn center and third largest in the world, patients from all over the country have trusted us with their burn treatment.

Our burn treatment program
Our hospital campus includes a dedicated burn clinic, Joseph M. Still Burn Center, where we not only offer medical and surgical treatments but also support for you, your family and our community. We are recognized by the Georgia Department of Public Health as a Designated Burn Center, and the American Burn Association (ABA) identifies us as a Verified Burn Center. In addition, our hospital is a Level II Trauma Center designated by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma.

Pediatric burn care
The scars left after a burn accident can cause issues with normal movement, so we pay extra attention when treating burns in our littlest patients, whose bones may still be growing. We are dedicated to close, personal monitoring for all of our pediatric patients, and offer special nutritional plans to make certain the kids in our care have the amount of calories they need as they recover. Our pediatric burn specialists work closely together to monitor your child's skin regrowth.

The Burn Foundation of America
Dr. Joseph M. Still founded The Burn Foundation of America to help families being treated at our burn center. The foundation provides many free services to support you and your loved ones, including:

- Medications
- Transportation
About the Jeffrey Vaden Chavis House
Recovering from a burn or wound can be a lengthy process, sometimes taking up to ten weeks. While you are in the hospital, The Burn Foundation of America offers a residence on the hospital's campus where your loved ones can stay free of charge during your burn or wound treatments. Some of the amenities include:
- Accommodations for up to 50 people
- Family room with TV
- Kitchen for warming up food
- One hot meal daily for burn victim families
- Washer and dryer
